Cable News Is Just As Polarized As You Thought It Was

There's no surprise here: conservatives and liberals are divided when it comes to cable news, according to a new study from Pew.

Everyone expects conservatives to be bigger fans of Fox News than MSNBC, and liberals to prefer MSNBC over Fox News. On Thursday, Pew released a report that showed, well, just that.

In a new study about political polarization, the organization looked at views of cable news according to political ideology. The vast majority of respondents who identify as "consistently liberal" view Fox News unfavorably, while the vast majority of those who are "consistently conservative" view MSNBC unfavorably.

Most consistent conservatives also have positive views of Fox News, though almost half of consistent liberals said that they neither view MSNBC favorably or unfavorably.
