Caitlyn Jenner Rep Responds To Rumors Of Inaugural Dance With Trump

"The real question is if they danced, who would lead?”

A rep for Caitlyn Jenner responded to rumors that the E! star will be treated to a dance with soon-to-be President Donald Trump at the Inauguration festivities

“This is a ridiculous story,” a rep for Jenner told People magazine Thursday. “There have been no discussions about who Caitlyn will or won’t dance with, or if she will dance at all. I can’t deal in hypotheticals and have no idea what any Trump aids hope happens. Of course, the real question is if they danced, who would lead?”

The New York Post’s Page Six cited an unnamed source from the Trump camp who said advisers have urged the president-elect to dance with Jenner as a message to the LGBTQ community.

“The image of Trump dancing with Caitlyn would send a strong message that he supports gay rights and trans rights,” the Republican allegedly said. “A picture is worth a thousand tweets.”

The former Olympian, who is a Republican herself, has previously said she thinks Trump would be good for women’s rights and LGBTQ issues

“Everybody looks at the Democrats as being better with these issues,” she added. “But Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the LGBT community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue. He backed the LGBT community. But in Trump’s case, there’s a lot more unknowns. With Hillary, you pretty much know what you’re gonna get with the LGBT community.”

Jenner was photographed flying out of LAX Thursday.

Writer and comedian Siobhan Thompson claims that she heard Jenner talking about “how Trump is great on trans issues” during a flight Thursday morning. A rep for Jenner had no comment when asked by The Huffinton Post about the alleged conversation and Thompson did not reply to Huff Post’s request for a statement.

Despite what Jenner might think, Trump’s record on LGBTQ issues has been called out by numerous activists and his cabinet choices have been labeled as vehemently anti-queer. What’s more, if the president-elect’s advisers think that a dance with Jenner will help raise Trump’s popularity within the LGBTQ community, they might want to think again
