No. 12 seed California will face No. 4 seed Syracuse in the third round of the NCAA Tournament in the East region.

The Golden Bears held off a late UNLV rally in the second half to record their first tournament win since 2010. Allen Crabbe tallied 19 points and nine rebounds for Cal. Syracuse advanced in a rout, demolishing Montana 81-34.

The winner in this matchup on March 23 will advance to the Sweet 16.
