BMe Genius Dr. Eddie Connor is stepping in front of the camera, as the new host of TCT Television Network’s, Michigan Alive. The show will highlight stories from community leaders, activists, and local Detroit talents.

“I am super excited to be launching this new show,” said Connor. “I’m excited to bring a fresh dialogue about what Detroiters are doing everyday to build their community.”

Connor is a bestselling author, speaker, college professor, and radio/TV correspondent. He uses all of his platforms to empower people to overcome obstacles. Connor is no stranger to adversity. When he was 15 years old he was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which is a cancer of the immune system.

“I got tired of hospitals, my classmates wrote me off, and my own father didn’t visit me,” recalled Connor. He remembers one classmate walking up to him during this time saying, “I thought you were dead.”

Connor, a fighter, did not give up but trusted that one day through faith and much prayer that he would be cancer free.

“I constantly repeated my favorite scripture ‘I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.’ [Psalm 118:17],” said Connor.

After beating cancer nearly 20 years ago, Connor decided he would find a way to help empower others especially young males through literacy and education.
