The St. Louis Cardinals are returning to the World Series for the fourth time in 10 years but that doesn't mean winning the National League pennant isn't still the cause for a big party at Busch Stadium. With veteran outfielder Carlos Beltran and rookie pitcher Michael Wacha set to make their first appearances in the Fall Classic, the celebration was on -- and soaked in champagne -- not long after Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal struck out Mark Ellis to wrap up the team's pennant-clinching, 9-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 6 of the NLCS.
"I'm so happy right now," Beltran told TBS' Craig Sager on the field after the Cardinals clinched a spot in the 2013 World Series with. "We did it as a team. We fought hard, we worked hard all season long, and thank God we're here."
After the Cards were presented with the Warren C. Giles Trophy by honorary league president Bill Giles before the delirious home crowd, the team took the revelry indoors to the clubhouse.
