Caren Shanfield, Francis Medvedik Arrested: Boy Calls Cops On Pot-Growing Parents, Police Say

Boy Calls Cops On Alleged Pot-Growing Parents

Nobody likes a tattletale.

A little boy in Pennsylvania called the cops on his mom and dad on May 9 after allegedly finding 18 marijuana plants growing in the basement, Phillyburbs.com reported.

When police went to the home in Doylestown, the boy led them downstairs, where they reportedly found the plants, fans, grow lights, timers and electrical cords for growing the weed.

Officers obtained a search warrant on Tuesday and then arrested Caren Shanfield, 45, and Joseph Medvedik, 49, on charges of child endangerment, manufacture and intended sale of controlled substances, and intent to use drug paraphernalia, according to NBC.

Five juveniles, ages 10 to 17, lived in the house and knew about the marijuana operation, cops said.

Medvedik and Shanfield were arraigned and held on bail of $100,000 each. Neither parent has a past criminal record.
