It’s the year of soccer thanks to the FIFA World Cup and Carlos Vives, who just happens to be a soccer fan at heart, even wrote a song for the popular sport which is included in his newest production, “Mas + Corazon Profundo.”

“The world cup is the feeling you get to support your country’s team,” Carlos Vives told VOXXI in an exclusive one-on-one.

“Everyone in Colombia enjoyed the world cup when the national team did not play, now it’s much more intense,” said Vives, who undeniably roots for the Colombian soccer team during this year’s FIFA world cup.

The soccer sport-inspired song, “La Copa de Todos,” is one of 10 new records found in Vives’ fourteenth studio album “Más + Corazón Profundo.”

This is the second production the Colombian sensation releases in one year. A first in his shining and successful career.
“Más + Corazón Profundo” is successor of his three-time GRAMMY-winning album “Corazón Profundo.”

“It was those ideas that were left behind from the previous release,” the “Fruta Fresca” singer said about what triggered him to launch two creations back-to-back.

“Both albums complement each other, they are a couple,” he added.

Carlos Vives delights fans with ten new engaging songs, as well as some bonus tracks, including the salsa version of “La Foto de los Dos.”

“It’s that feeling that was missing,” the 52-year-old said.

“The album has a lot of rhythm, with new vallenatos and cumbias, especially.”

His two recent singles, “El Mar de Sus Ojos” feat. ChocQuibTown and “Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar” feat. Marc Anthony, are the icing to this bombastic and tropical work.

“They are my special guests,” said Vives, adding that his song with ChocQuibTown has very good energy and his song with Marc is very much loved.

In the midst of talking about dream collaborations with other artists, dancing together, sharing smiles and taking a selfie, our interview with the humble artist from Santa Marta, Colombia came to an end.
