Carnival Fantasy is a popular floating resort. The waters are crowded with sea-worthy vessels, so to make planning easier, we've done all the prep work for a cruise vacation. The Carnival Fantasy sails to the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean. This ship begins its journey from Charleston, S.C., and visits such ports as Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas and Key West, Fla.
A Family Cruise Ship
was the first of the line's Fantasy-class ships. The Fantasy and the seven ships that followed it in the line are midsize ships and suitable for short cruises. With large spaces set aside for teen and tween clubs and the addition of the water park, this ship is ideally suited for family cruises.
Kid-Friendly Fun
The
includes slides and sprinklers for younger Carnival Fantasy cruisers. Camp Carnival, Circle "C" and Club 02 are special places set aside for children 2 to 11, 12 to 14 and 15 to 17, respectively. Adults have their own retreat, called Serenity.
Accommodation Options
The Carnival Fantasy has more
than many other Carnival ships. These indoor cabins include a curtained wall space that gives the illusion of a window. Ocean-view rooms have either a window or twin portholes. Ocean suites and grand suites have balconies or verandas.
Cost
A five-night cruise on the
to the Bahamas in January costs as little as $269 for an inside cabin and $599 for a suite. A seven-night cruise to Bermuda in September is $549 for an inside cabin and $1,749 for a suite. Cruises on the Fantasy are less expensive during the winter months.
Snorkeling And Splashing
One Carnival Fantasy passenger recommended the

Dining
The Carnival Fantasy has two main dining rooms, the Celebration and the Jubilee. Passengers choose either assigned dining or what's known as
, where passengers eat on their own schedule. Windows on the Sea, the Lido deck restaurant, serves pizza, burgers and other casual fare. A sushi bar is maintained on the Promenade deck, and the ship offers 24-hour room service.
Maiden Voyage
The Carnival Fantasy was launched in 1990. The ship was sent to dry dock in 2008 to be refurbished and updated.
In The News
reported that the Carnival Fantasy was struck by a rice barge in February 2007. According to
, the Fantasy was diverted from its port in New Orleans after an oil spill in 2008.
