Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) was re-elected to Congress in New York's 12th congressional district on Tuesday.

Maloney, who was first elected to Congress in 1992, defeatedNick Di Iorio to hold on to her seat.

Di Iorio made headlines earlier this year when he was approached by producers looking to make a reality show about long-shot political campaigns. The Washington Examiner reported in August Di Iorio had dropped his request with the FEC to shoot the show as he campaigned.

U.S. News reported in June that Di Iorio has a twin brother who once worked for Maloney as an intern.
