Carson Kressley Looks Back On 'Queer Eye For The Straight Guy' Legacy

WATCH: Carson Kressley On The Cultural Impact Of 'Queer Eye'

Fresh off his off-Broadway debut in "NEWSical The Musical," Carson Kressley nonetheless took time to look back on his "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" years during a HuffPost Live appearance.

"People have called it a cultural milestone," Kressley said of the hit Bravo series, which ran from 2003 until 2007. "It was very subversive...there was nothing political about it, it didn't have an agenda. But what it did do was bring gay people into the living rooms and the bedrooms of millions of people across America. For the first time, some people got to know their only gay person."

Kressley also sounded off on one of the show's most persistent criticisms -- that it perpetuated stereotypes about gay men.

"We would always say, 'Well, if we dress great or we're great cooks, or we have great taste or we know what's going on in pop culture, bring it on. [Those are] great things to be known for." he recalled.
