Emmy-award-winning celebrity stylist Carson Kressley wants to give real women inspiration to feel better about themselves through fashion. “When you look better, you feel better,” the always effervescent style guru remarks.

In a time when social media raises the bar on beauty to unobtainable levels, Carson wants to help women find self-acceptance right in their own closets. The former Queer Eye TV personality set out to make dressing fun and guide women to feel good about themselves in his new book, Does This Book Make My Butt Look Big? A Cheeky Guide To Feeling Sexier In Your Own Skin & Unleashing Your Personal Style.

Unlike other haughty style books, Carson isn’t going to tell you that you need a vintage Chanel catsuit. He wants his book to be different from every other style book that might be driven by strict rules. “I wanted it to be fun. Women dread getting dressed in the morning. Getting dressed should be celebratory and pleasurable and not so serious,” he tells me.

Carson becomes a cheerleader/motivator for the everywoman that needs inspired. He encourages simple things like a great bronzer and good blowout while holding your hand as you purge your closet (the ten-step closet enema, as he calls it) of the things you haven’t worn since the Bush administration.

His well-organized book gives thoughtful advice and recommendations that are realistic. He leaves no style stone unturned. Carson understands women and “car-pool couture.” He’s also sensitive to budget and body shape. The compassionate style expert even delves into what’s emotionally behind a fashion issue.

His fashion suggestions are accessible and refreshing. Can’t swing a Stella McCartney jacket? No problem. Carson recommends looking for something with similar lines at an outlet store like Nordstrom Rack or T.J. Maxx. His list of insider tips and websites that will score you a deal are plentiful.

Carson’s witty tone will leave you laughing at every page. He understands if you need a “Xany” at the thought of totally transforming your look. Sometimes a girl just needs a new lipstick to feel great. He gets it adding, “The goal is to feel better, feel empowered, and feel like the best version of yourself.”

And what woman doesn’t want that?
