Carson Aide Says His Boss Will 'Pray For' Trump After Child Molester Comparison

"It is so immature, so embarrassing, I feel so sorry for him," Carson's business manager said.

An aide to retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson said the Republican presidential candidate would "pray for" Donald Trump after the real estate mogul likened Carson to a child molester.

Armstrong Williams, the business manager of Carson's campaign, responded Friday to Trump's comments about a passage from Carson's book, Gifted Hands, in which the neurosurgeon says he almost stabbed a friend. Trump, who is also running for the GOP nomination, told CNN's Erin Burnett Thursday that he is concerned about Carson's "pathological" tendencies because an angry temperament is incurable, just like the behavior of a child molester.

"When I spoke with Dr. Carson about this yesterday how we should respond, you know he was so sad about it. He said: 'Pray for him,'" Williams told CNN's Chris Cuomo on "New Day."

"It's so sad watching and listening to him, a man who is so accomplished, who has been so blessed but yet cannot fathom why Dr. Carson or anyone else would be doing better than he in the presidential race," Williams continued.

Williams said Trump obviously only wants to be on the stage by himself.

"It is so immature, so embarrassing, I feel so sorry for him," he said.
