Cary Williams Shoves Ref: Should Ravens CB Have Been Ejected From Super Bowl XLVII? (VIDEO/GIF)

Ravens CB Shoves Ref During Super Bowl

After Ed Reed intercepted a Colin Kaepernick pass in the second quarter of Super Bowl XLVII, a scuffle between both teams broke out with multiple flags being thrown.

As the players were being separated, Ravens cornerback Cary Williams emerged from the scrum and appeared to shove a referee. But after the officials deliberated, Williams was not flagged. Instead, unnecessary roughness penalties were called on San Francisco's Joe Staley and Baltimore's Corey Graham.

As Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk pointed out, contact with an official should always result in an ejection. Florio wasn't the only one to notice that Williams probably should have been tossed from the game.
