Casey Wilson's 'Real Housewives Of New York' Obsession

Casey Wilson: 'Real Housewives' Is My Whole World

If you've been watching the "The Real Housewives of New York City" trip to St. Barths the past few weeks with jaws on the floor, you're not alone, but no one has had funnier, more brutally honest reactions to the drama than "Happy Endings" star Casey Wilson. (Except maybe Vulture recapping legend Julie Klausner ... but we'll get to her in a second.)

I caught up with Wilson to talk about "Happy Endings" Season 3 (sadly, we have to wait until Tues., Oct. 23, 9 p.m. ET for its return on ABC and my full post will come later), but our "Real Housewives" tangent that followed was full of laughs, cursing and genuine concern for those crazy "Slutty Island" castaways. Check it out below.

Your tweets about the "Real Housewives of New York" drama lately have made us all so happy. Can you even deal with what all has gone down on this vacation?
Don’t get me started. I simply cannot process what’s happening. And I would tweet more, but I always feel like people are like, “Who the f---? Is this your whole world?” And it is. That’s the truth of it, is that it is. You can know for yourself that it’s your whole world, but I don’t need to demonstrate that every week. [Laughs.] Last week’s episode blew my mind ... I always want them on St. Barths. I never want them off of there. What’s LuAnn doing? I’m asking genuinely. And am I really to believe -- seriously, I’m just asking this of you -- was Sonja really getting f---ed in the a-- by a pirate? [Laughs.] When it was happening, I couldn’t process it … it was like a traumatic experience and I just couldn’t accept it. Now it’s sinking in. Every frame was more glorious than the one before. It was so crazy.

And the fact that Carole just tells it like it is in confessional, getting bleeped for saying Sonja was getting “b---f---ed” ... I mean!
I love Carole so much. Like I really love Carole. Have you read her book? I’m waiting for her to say like, “OK, everyone, I’ve gathered you here to tell you that I’m f---ing joking being on this show” and then walk off, and it’s the ultimate prank. That’s what I’m holding out for, and I think it might be in the cards. Like she’s doing some undercover journalism or something.

[Laughs.] Well I felt that way about Aviva too, until she started telling everyone that she went to Vassar and law school and speaks lots of languages and understands everything.
Yeah, I thought we were on a straighter path with Aviva. What is going on between Aviva and Reid that is so dire that he needs to be treated like a king? I was just laughing so hard.

And Julie Klausner’s Vulture recaps -- I saw you give her props on Twitter and it makes me so happy when people can appreciate the genius.
Julie Klausner ... I mean, we came up in UCB together ... I feel like they’re little masterpieces, what she’s writing.

Well and I loved the news that you and June Diane Raphael have “The Housewives” now ordered at ABC. I know it’ll be set in the ‘50s, but was it inspired at all by your “Real Housewives” love?
It is inspired 100 percent. It is inspired only by the ridiculousness of the “Real Housewives.” We were genuinely like, look, women are pulling each other’s weaves out and calling each other human garbage. It begs the question, what would the original housewives make of this? [Laughs.]

"The Real Housewives of New York" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo; "Happy Endings" Season 3 premieres Tues., Oct. 23, 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
