Castle For Sale In Amsterdam, New York, Was Once An Armory (PHOTOS)

Even though it's not medieval, it still has a cool story.

Have you ever been called a prince (or princess)? Now you can live in a home befitting of this description. This Amsterdam, New York home, which was modeled after a medieval castle, is on the market for a cool $1 million.

At a massive 36,000 square feet and with four soaring turrets, this structure may look like it has gothic roots, but in actuality it was built in 1894 for the National Guard. In fact, Curbed reports that it's the only armory in the state that has been transformed into a single-family house. Although some updates are needed to make it a bit more cozy, the over-the-top amenities like a full gymnasium, rifle range, and, um, communal showers... will come in handy? We think this place has tons of potential. Boing Boing even joked about installing a piranha-infested moat around the property.

Click through the photos below and head over to Select Sotheby’s International Realty for the full listing. H/T to Curbed for bringing this cool house to our attention.
