Cat Eye Sunglasses: Audrey Hepburn, Jennifer Lopez, Dita Von Teese & More Love This Eyewear (PHOTOS)

Would You Wear Cat-Eye Sunglasses?

Since the 1950's, cat-eye sunglasses have gone in and out of style. Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly all wore the feline-inspired frames in their heyday, and stars like Jennifer Lopez, Dita von Teese and Salma Hayek channel the look today.

While I am glad that this style has come back into vogue, my mom has a much different reaction, as she remembers their original iteration. When I asked her what she thought about the return of the cat-eye, she shuddered. "Oh God, I had those in the 60's. Everyone did. They were horrid," she continued, "Mine were blue, Grandma's were tortoise shell."

Well, mine are black, Tom Ford and I love them. They are, however, different from the cat-eye glasses of my mother's youth. While hers were more thin, angular and exaggerated, mine are derivative, rounder and better suit my face.

Take a peek at the photos below of stars in the '50s and '60s, and compare them to the later images of stars today. Which style of cat-eye sunglasses do you like best?
