Heartless Suspect Kicks Stray Cat On Video, Internet Tracks Him Down

The Internet puts up with a lot of stupidity, but it doesn't put up with abuse.

So when Andre Robinson and his pals allegedly posted a video (above) of him luring in a harmless stray cat, only to kick it into the air, Facebookers tracked him down. His friends can be heard laughing in the background. The video was shared thousands of times starting on Friday, and eagle-eyed commenters found that it was shot in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y., according to New York Magazine.

Police received that information on Monday, and quickly tracked down 21-year-old Robinson and arrested him on a charge of aggravated criminal assault. He has eight prior arrests, including one for a knifepoint robbery in 2011, the New York Daily News reports.

An arrest report obtained by the paper states that the cat flew about 20 feet. Veterinarians said a fall from that height could have caused serious injury to the poor kitty. Cops said it was a planned attack, in which Robinson said, "Watch this," before tempting the cat over with a few head scratches. That's when he allegedly punted the feline.

Neighbors said the stray had been hanging around for months and was playful and friendly, but they haven't seen him in days.

Here's the post that eventually led cops to Robinson, who was familiar with police at an area precinct:
