Cedric The Entertainer Says He Had To Go Through Betty White To Get 'The Soul Man' On 'Late Night' (VIDEO)

Cedric The Entertainer On Betty White's Casting Couch

When Cedric the Entertainer made a guest appearance as a minister on "Hot in Cleveland," he probably had no idea that it wouldn't be long before he'd be starring in the first spin-off of the popular TV Land show. Now, with "The Soul Man" set to premiere Wednesday night at 10 p.m. on the network, he went on "Late Night" (Weeknights, 12:37 a.m. ET on NBC) to talk about what it took for him to land the show.

"All things go through Betty White, you know," he stated emphatically, before going into graphic detail about just what that meant. Suffice to say, Cedric painted a picture of himself on Betty's casting couch, and Viagra was involved. Of course, it was all in good fun, as he clarified later for fear of White's "people."

His interview had Jimmy Fallon cracking up, and proved the comedian is as funny as ever. That's certainly a good sign for a network that's starting to make a name for itself with classically styled comedies.
