Celebrities Rock Eclectic Braids On This Week's Best Beauty List

From super-thick rope braids to waist-long fishtail plaits.

We'll never grow tired of wearing braids. They're such a great style to wear when you just don't have time to wash your hair or you'd like to give yourself a break from the flat iron.

The celebrities who landed on our best beauty list this week have inspired us to take our braid skills to the next level. Taraji P. Henson's mane man Cesar Ramirez gave the star a side-braided 'do he coined "Urban Veronica Lake." Olivia Palermo's hairstylist Lacy Redway used latex to fashion a custom headband to adorn her rope braid. Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani went all "Game of Thrones" with waist-length fishtail braids.

Henson looked white hot (even in a robe) as she geared up to host "Taraji and Terrence's White Hot Holidays" on Fox. Celebrity stylist and Mizani artist Cesar Ramirez came up with this "Urban Veronica Lake" look by combining voluminous waves with intricate side braids. He prepped Henson's damp hair with Mizani Therma Strength Heat Protecting Serum to minimize breakage while blow-drying and curling.

To offset the romantic feel of her Valentino gown, Palermo's hairstylist Lacy Redway chose this rope braid with a custom latex headband. She applied R+Co Chiffon Styling Mousse to the socialite's center-parted hair and used a paddle brush to smooth her strands down. Redway secured the braid with a Bungee band and cut a piece of latex to fit around Palermo's head before tying it into a knot at the nape.

Stefani channeled "Game of Thrones" character Khaleesi on a recent episode of "The Voice" with her waist-length fishtail braids. Accentuated with her signature topknot, the slender plaits fell beautifully against her olive green gown. Watch this video to learn how to recreate fishtail braids.

The "Being Mary Jane" star looked absolutely regal with her box braids and stark white floor-length dress. It's rare that we see this braided hairstyle in the cold-weather months, but Union is proof that it works for every season. To keep your natural hair healthy and moisturized while wearing a protective style like this, be sure to condition it with oils like coconut and argan.
