Celebrities Perform At Anti-Bullying Event

Celebrities were out in full force at Sunday night's annual Trevor's Project anti-bullying event, the Los Angeles Times' "Ministry of Gossip" blog reports.

However, It wasn't just about star sightings and A-list camaraderie. Lady Gaga was honored for "being an inspiration to youth and increasing visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The pop star was introduced by the family of Jamey Rodemeyer, the 14-year-old boy who committed suicide after years of being bullied, and was saluted for her creation of the Born This Way Foundation, as well as her campaign to make bullying illegal.

"This award means more to me than any Grammy I could ever win," Gaga said in her acceptance speech, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Among the night's performers was country-pop singer LeAnn Rimes who, along with husband Eddie Cibrian, spoke about their experiences with bullying, On The Red Carpet reports.

"I've had so many of those stories and it's just, for me, it's really about equality and all of these kids deserve a chance at a happy life and an opportunity to live in a free world, where everyone else does," Rimes said, according to the report. "The bullying and the hate has to stop, it's so uncalled for and no child should ever be committing suicide."

"I think people should realize that everyone's different and everyone is beautiful in their own right," Cibrian added, according to the report. "I think this organization, it's the first of its kind nationally, where someone can call 24 hours a day, seven days a week and actually reach a professional to help you get through whatever you're feeling, so it's fun to be here and support that."

Miley Cyrus, Glee star Darren Criss, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka were among the night's other performers.
