Those eager to get an idea of how director Diego Luna’s biopic of legendary labor organizer Cesar Chavez is shaping up can now get a preview.
Pantelion Films released the movie’s official trailer to YouTube on Tuesday. The film, marking Luna’s first shot at directing a feature film in English, is scheduled for release in April.
Luna says he first took interest in Chavez’s life after his first son was born in the United States.
“I had a Mexican American in the family,” Luna said in August on HuffPost Live. “The idea behind the film is to talk about a community that now I have a strong connection with.”
"Cesar Chavez: An American Hero," stars Michael Peña, with America Ferrera as Helen Chavez and Rosario Dawson playing Dolores Huerta.
