The Moment Chad Le Clos Realized Michael Phelps Would Win

He's got a good look at history unfolding before his eyes.

Sometimes a look just says it all.

In photos drawing raves, a trailing Chad le Clos appears to be peeking at imminent defeat to Michael Phelps during the 200-meter butterfly final at the Olympic Games in Rio Tuesday.

Phelps’ victory, on a night when he also captured his 21st gold medal in the 4x200 meter relay, provided a bookend to his rivalry with le Clos, who narrowly out-touched Phelps in the same race at the 2012 games. There’s been trash-talking since, including at these Olympics.

Le Clos finished fourth this time, but that sure seems to be a gold-medal-winning look of damn.
