As stories of heroism emerged in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy's devastation along the Eastern Seaboard, in the Midwest, another act of bravery made headlines. WISH TV reports that 15-year-old Zach Shaw rescued his disabled father from a fire in Noblesville, Indiana.
When Zach's father, Chad Shaw, saw that his window blinds had caught fire late Tuesday night he cried out for his son. The noise woke Zach up, and the teen ran to his father's door -- but he couldn't enter because the flames were too intense. Thankfully, Zach found a way to enter through an attached bedroom.

"I got his wheelchair as he was crawling out the back door brought his wheelchair out, fixed it, lifted him up on his chair and we went into the car," Zach told Fox 59.
Firefighters arrived at the burning home in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday to discover that the teen had evacuated the house and led his wheelchair-bound father to safety.
Within 20 minutes, the firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. No one was injured, but the family is facing an estimated $60,000 in damages, according to WISH TV.
Earlier this month, a high school freshman in Yuba City, California was also hailed a hero when he went to at least half a dozen homes to alert residents of a fire in a nearby townhouse. And in Australia this week, 14-year-old Kyle Squires heroically saved his two-year-old little brother from drowning in the family's backyard pool.
