Teen Aims To Create World's Largest Photo Mosiac For Charity

Alex Darrow, 16, had an idea: to somehow integrate every person on earth part of one large community. So he launched a website, PictureTheWorld.

Darrow hopes to create the world's largest photo mosaic in order to make the world better.

The Sacramento Bee captured the teen's noble motivation:

"Kids don't deserve to suffer from diseases and illnesses," Darrow said. "I want to make their lives easier in any way I can. I guess I just wish more people my age would do this type of thing."

Contributors are required to pay a minimum of $5 for each uploaded photo. Donations go toward charities including 88Bikes, Doctors Without Borders and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

Help Darrow surpass the largest photo mosaic comprised of 112,896 photos, and raise a minimum of $560,000 by visiting PictureTheWorld and uploading your own photo.
