Barkley: Tiger's Struggles Almost Made Me Cry

Tiger Woods' golf game has gotten so bad as of late that his performance during the 2011 PGA Championship almost brought Charles Barkley to tears.

The former NBA star, widely-known to be one of the worst golfers around, joined Scott Kaplan and Vencie Glenn on XX Sports Radio in San Diego and admitted that he hates seeing Woods play so poorly.

"I hate to see him struggling. To be honest with you I almost started crying last week," he said. "I was up at the Basketball Hall Of Fame watching that Friday afternoon before the ceremony and when he snap-hooked that drive into the woods, chipped out, snap-hooked the other ball I was like wow! What the hell? I feel bad."

Barkley, who expressed his concern for Woods earlier this month before the Bridgestone Invitational, also talked about how he hasn't heard from the golfer since a November 2009 car accident ignited a downward spiral in his personal life and unveiled sordid tales of infidelity with a cavalcade of mistresses.

"He changed his number. We talked I think the day of the accident and I haven’t talked to him since then. My number hasn’t changed. I just want the dude to be alright."

The Basketball Hall of Famer also weighed in on Woods potentially playing on the U.S. Presidents Cup team. Captain Fred Couples said earlier this week that Woods would have to prove he deserves a spot on the team.

Barkley, however, doesn't think Woods should be allowed on the team because it would be "so unfair to the other players."
