Charles Woodson Punch: Packers CB Punches Saints TE David Thomas (VIDEO)

WATCH: Packers Player Escapes Ejection After Throwing Uppercut

Thursday night's season opener between the Packers and Saints had it all. It was high scoring. There were a couple special teams touchdowns. Turnovers. Hard hits. And of course, a dirty play.

In the middle of the third quarter, Packers cornerback Charles Woodson got tangled up with Saints tight end David Thomas. The replay showed the 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year deliver an uppercut to Thomas' abdomen.

NBC announcer Chris Collinsworth noticed the punch after watching it in slow-motion and said Woodson was lucky he was not ejected.

"That should have been an ejection," Collinsworth said. "As I understand the rules, you see a punch thrown, he should have been gone."

Saints head coach Sean Payton also noticed the punch and immediately called for Woodson to get thrown out of the game, but the officials gave Green Bay a 15-yard penalty instead.
