Charlie Sheen Gives Himself 'Anger Management' Advice

Charlie Sheen's new FX sitcom "Anger Management" premieres Thursday, and the controversial actor stopped by "GMA" to discuss the similarities between himself and his character.

On the show, Sheen plays Charlie Goodson, an anger management therapist with unconventional methods. When Elizabeth Vargas asked him if the role was a stretch for the rant-prone actor, Sheen quipped, "What do you think?" before noting that it was "nice to be in the chair and not on the couch."

Later, Sheen used some of his character's therapeutic methods to give himself some retroactive advice about how he could have better handled his tumultuous exit from "Two And A Half Men." "Stop being so damn angry ... you can always leave the room," he advised.

Sheen also updated viewers on the state of his sobriety. He claimed that he no longer uses drugs, but still drinks, and "[doesn’t] believe in rehab anymore ... It's just not for me, it’s not for everyone."

"Anger Management" premieres Thursday, June 28, at 9 p.m. ET on FX.
