Charlize Theron might be a new mom, but she does not have a new man. At least not in Eric Stonestreet.
A report written by the Daily Mail claimed that Theron, 37, had fallen for "Modern Family" actor Stonestreet.
"Charlize and Eric get along incredibly well," the Daily Mail quotes a source close to the actress as saying. "They started off as friends but things are blossoming between them." The paper adds, "Eric is down to earth and funny and Charlize thinks the world of him. It’s early days but they’re very fond of each other."
Stonestreet took to his Twitter to address the Theron romance rumors.
"She [Halle Berry] was so cold to me this morning when she saw these rumors," Stonestreet joked on the Emmy Awards red carpet. Still, the actor said he would like to know how the Theron rumor materialized.
His rep told People magazine, "There is nothing romantic going on between them. He has only met Charlize twice!"
Us Weekly reports that the two have hung out at some industry events, but a source close to Theron also denied the romance.
The Oscar-winning actress's most recent relationship ended in 2010. She and actor Stuart Townsend dated for almost 10 years. Before dating Townsend, she was involved with Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins.
"I haven't been single since [I was] like 19," she told Ellen DeGeneres last December. "I've been in two relationships. One was ten years, and one was three years. Just like back to back."
"When I talk about it, it's not to get pity," she explained about her dating life. "It's actually a nice experience for me because I haven't experienced it . . . I'm really enjoying it."
Last week, it was announced that the ABC actor had split from his girlfriend of nearly three years, Broadway star Katherine Tokarz, according to E! News.
