Cher To Headline NYC's Pride Dance On The Pier

Cher To Headline NYC Pride

Singer, actress, and all-around pop icon Cher will headline NYC Pride's annual Dance on the Pier.

As part of her June 30 performance, the diva will perform her new single "Woman's World" from her forthcoming "Closer to the Truth" album, which is due out in September, along with several of her classic hits. This year's show will take place on Hudson River Park's Pier 26.

“NYC Pride is thrilled to welcome Cher to the stage of this year's Dance on the Pier! Her performance will be one of the most memorable in the history of this world-class party," Chris Frederick, Managing Director of NYC Pride, said in an email statement. "Now in its 27th year, the Dance on the Pier continues a proud tradition of partnering with all-star talent to create a high-quality event that raises funds to support local LGBT non-profits and New York City's annual Pride festivities."

2013 is shaping up to a banner year for Cher. "Truth," her first album of all-new material since 2002's "Living Proof," reportedly features collaborations with Lady Gaga and Pink.

Cher will be on "The Voice" to perform "Woman's World," the album's first single, on June 18.
