Sorry Fans, Cheryl Hines And Larry David Don’t Talk About ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’

Still, we think the return of the series is pretty, pretty good.

When Cheryl Hines and Larry David get together, there’s one thing they rarely talk about: “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

The pair, who have starred on the HBO series since its 2000 debut, quickly became off-screen friends. Although the show aired its “final” episode a whopping five years ago, Hines and David (who were a couple on the show) have remained close. And pretty soon, we’ll see the likes of them on the small screen again when “Curb” returns for Season 9.

Hines confirmed to The Huffington Post that she’ll revive her character, but she has no clue what to expect in terms of the storyline, or anything else for that matter.

“I know that I’m going to be on this season, but I haven’t even talked to Larry,” she said. “I mean, I’ve talked to him on the phone but when I talk to him on the phone we never talk about ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’ It’s, ‘What are you doing Thursday night? Do you want to go to dinner?’ I stopped asking because he either won’t tell me or he’ll tell me to stop asking.”

Even finding out about the show’s return came as a surprise to Hines. She was on the set of her new Fox series, “Son of Zorn,” when she heard the news.

“Sometimes, if I don’t have a lot of time, I’ll look on Twitter to see what’s trending so I can stay up to date, and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ was trending and I was like, ‘That’s weird!’ I started getting texts and emails like, ‘That’s so great it’s coming back!’ And I was like, ‘Oh, is it?’ Then I texted Larry and was like, ‘Is ‘Curb’ coming back and am I in it?’ And he’s like, ‘Well, if your schedule will allow you to.’ So that was it,” she said.

The last time we saw Cheryl’s and Larry’s TV characters they were no longer together, so there’s no telling what’s in store.

But we’re excited that “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is coming back (date TBD). Actually even more than that. We think it’s … pretty, pretty good.

Hines stars in “Son of Zorn,” which airs Sunday nights at 8:31 p.m. ET on Fox.
