Chewbacca Comes To Rey's Defense In Never-Before-Seen 'Star Wars' Deleted Scene

It's Chewie vs. Unkar Plutt.

It’s not wise to upset a Wookiee.

But in a new deleted scene from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Jakku’s junk dealer, Unkar Plutt, does just that. You’ll remember Plutt as the slimy junk boss of Jakku who contributes to making Rey’s life on the desert planet a living hell. That is, until she steals the Millennium Falcon from him while fleeing the First Order.

In “The Force Awakens,” the last we see of Plutt is him shaking his fists at Rey (and BB-8 and Finn) as she flies away on the ship. In this deleted scene, we get to see what happens when the two meet again.

In the clip, which takes place at Maz Kanata’s castle on Takodana, Plutt confronts Rey when he spots her in the crowd and immediately threatens her. (You’d probably be mad if someone managed to steal the Millennium Falcon from you, too.) But Rey, having none of Plutt’s complaining, pulls out her weapon, only to be quickly disarmed by the slimy junk dealer.

Chewie jumps to her defense, but Plutt isn’t scared. He goes on to mock Chewie, calling him “half a Wookiee” and poking his wounded arm. Not cool.

The scene, which you can watch above, will be included on the film’s 3-D Collector’s Edition Blu-ray, which will be released Nov. 15.
