This Chewbacca And Han Solo Can't Outrun Police Cruisers

The officer let the Wookiee win.

Notorious smuggler and rebel sympathizer Chewbacca was detained Wednesday in the company of Corellian ne'er-do-well Han Solo and several Sith disciples.

Fulshear police posted dashcam video of what began as a routine traffic stop in Fort Bend County, Texas. Only, it wasn't so routine when a 7-foot 5-inch, blue-eyed, brown-haired Wookiee male stepped out of the car.

The suspect hails from the planet Kashyyyk and was born 80 years before the Clone Wars, according to Wookieepedia.

The front seat passenger, a reputed “stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder," is known to have ties with Outer Rim crime lord Jabba the Hutt.

The party told officers they were on their way to the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" premiere. As it turns out, police cruisers are apparently harder to outrun than Imperial starships.

But rather than bringing the band back to Detention Block 32 or freezing them in carbonite, the officer is seen hopping in the rebels' trunk to join them.

"We lost a police car..." police said in the post.

Of course, this isn't Chewbacca's first brush with the law, and it probably won't be his last.

Needless to say, this was an elaborate joke staged by Fulshear's finest. Who says cops don't have a sense of humor?
