Chicago Christmas Tree Finalists Put To A Vote

Voting Opens To Choose Chicago's 2011 Christmas Tree

The city of Chicago is asking residents to help choose which of three Colorado Spruce trees will be displayed in Daley Plaza for the 2011 holiday season.

The competition, which started in September and drew 38 submissions, has been whittled down to three finalists: a 55-foot tree submitted by the Jozefow family from Northlake, a 59 foot tree from the Trudel family in Glenview, and a 55 foot tree submitted bt the Spangler family of Western Springs, ABC Chicago reports. The Spangler family's submission last year also made it to the final round.

Voting opened Monday and will continue until October 25 on a special page hosted by the Chicago Sun-Times. Users can submit one vote per day every day until the voting closes, according to the site. The winning family will get to light the tree at Daley Plaza on Nov. 23, Fox Chicago reports.
