Engineers in China finally took their innovative elevated bus for a test spin in Hebei province this week.

As the photos below show, the bus is designed to straddle roadways, allowing smaller vehicles to pass underneath.

The electric-powered “Transit Elevated Bus,” or TEB, can hold up to 300 passengers, the BBC reports. It is 72 feet long and 25 feet wide.

While this was merely a test run, the concept has already sparked interest in Brazil, France, India and Indonesia, China’s Xinhua News reported.

The bus is expected to reach speeds of 40 miles per hour, according to TechCrunch.
