Armed Robbery Foiled By Language Barrier, Cops Say

Apparently the gesture for "give me all your money" isn't universal.

Three masked men, whose names have not been released, allegedly attempted to rob a Chinese restaurant in Orlando, Fla. on Monday night, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Since the three employees inside the establishment spoke only Cantonese, the Daily Mail reported, they did not understand the suspects' demands that they empty the cash register -- or at least, that's how they made it seem.

When their requests were met with only confusion, one of the masked men allegedly put a gun to an employee's head while the other would-be robbers repeatedly pounded on the register.

One shot was fired, but police believe it was an accident. The men fled the resturant empty-handed, but were later tracked down and held for questioning by police, according to Click Orlando.

No one was injured in the incident, and as of late Monday, no arrests had yet been made.
