New Jersey Governor Faces Off Against Barbara Buono

New Jersey Govenror Chris Christie (R) is up for reelection. He faces Democrat Barbara Buono at the polls today.

Polls open in New Jersey at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Christie is aiming for a blowout win. RealClearPolitics' Scott Conroy reports:

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie knows as well as everyone else does that he is poised to win re-election Tuesday in a rout.

A simple reading of the polls indicates that the outcome of the race is all but preordained, and the self-styled straight-shooting politician has made little effort to suggest otherwise.

According to the latest RealClearPolitics polling average, the first-term Republican leads Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono by 24.1 percentage points.

Barnstorming through all 21 of the Garden State’s counties over the last week, Christie urged the throngs of fervent supporters who turned out wherever he went to ignore the polls and take nothing for granted on Election Day.
