If only we had an ex-boyfriend as sweet as Chris Evans.
The “Captain America” star had only kind words for his ex-girlfriend Jenny Slate in a recent interview.
“She’s my favorite human,” Evans told People. “She’s the best. I’ve never, ever, ever met someone in my life who has a mastery of the English language the way she does. She’ll give you one sentence and there’s no fat to it. You’re like, ‘You just chose such an unbelievable collection of words that beautifully articulate what you say.’”
Celebrity breakups are rarely as sweet and amicable as this. Just think back to Calvin Harris’ rant about his ex, Taylor Swift, on Twitter. Public separations are often met with silence or war.
Evans and Slate have taken an unexpectedly nice high road as they give interviews to promote a film they starred in together, “Gifted,” set for release April 7.
Slate, best known for her recurring role on “Parks and Recreation,” gave an in-depth interview with Vulture detailing the causes of her breakup with Evans and discussing the actor himself.
“We’re not on bad terms, but we haven’t really seen each other, spoken a lot,” she told Vulture. “I think it’s probably best. I’d love to be his friend one day, but we threw down pretty hard. No regrets, though. Ever.”
