Just one month after being diagnosed with leukemia, Chris Rumble decided to lift the spirits of fellow cancer patients at Seattle Children's Hospital with a little music.
The 22-year-old put his filmmaking skills to work and organized a video set to the tune of Kelly Clarkson's hit song "Stronger" to give children, teens, families and staff on his floor a little bit of motivation -- and a reason to sing at the top of their lungs, KING 5 reports.
And the uplifting atmosphere certainly provided patients with a change of pace.
“It was kind of like a party ... It wasn't a typical day at all," Rumble told MSNBC.
Rumble posted the video to YouTube, where it has been viewed more than 66,000 times since May 6.
Following his recent diagnosis, doctors said they are confident Rumble can beat the cancer with several rounds of chemotherapy, KOMO News reports.
The Washington native plans to attend Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., on a hockey scholarship.
In an April article featured on the North American Hockey League website, Rumble's former assistant hockey coach had only kind words to say about the player.
"Canisius is not only getting a very good hockey player but a tremendous person," Chris Clark, a Wenatchee Wild assistant coach, said.
The "Stronger" video is surely a testament to that declaration.
