On Monday night, the Senate rejected a series of gun control measures introduced by lawmakers following one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history to ensure background checks and prevent suspected terrorists from obtaining weapons.

Look around. This is the world we live in.

Frustrated by our government's incapability of passing even the most moderate of gun control reforms, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend opted to have their own debate on Twitter to typify everything that's wrong with the good ol' U.S. of A.

First, Legend expressed his outrage over the Senate's decision by urging his followers to take their anger to the voting booth come November.

Teigen, sliding into the role of ignorant Twitter troll quite nicely, responded to Legend's tweet by informing him that he should basically shut up and sing, Dixie Chicks-style ...

... To which Legend responded with a swift #blocked.

But one savvy social media user quickly deduced that date night in the Legend-Teigen household most likely includes side-by-side tweeting from the couch. #Goals, right? So John and Chrissy responded with a photo that essentially sums up our feelings about this whole mess.

Can we just vote them into office?
