Republicans in Congress are closer than ever to their goal of repealing and replacing Obamacare ― but the substitute they’ve come up isn’t sitting well with Christians across the political spectrum.

The American Health Care Act, which was narrowly approved by the House on Thursday on the same day President Donald Trump signed an executive order on religious liberty, drastically cuts federal funding for Medicaid and carries the risk of having millions of people lose health care coverage over the next few years. Critics claim the AHCA could have a devastating effect on poor and older Americans, and people with pre-existing health conditions.

After the bill passed, many took to Twitter to express their outrage. Christians, in particular, pointed out that for a group that prides itself on its faith and moral values, Republican lawmakers’ willingness to follow the Christian commandment to serve the poor seemed woefully inadequate.

Below, HuffPost rounded up some of the fiercest tweets from people who used Christian imagery and teachings to preach about the AHCA.
