'Amanpour': Christiane Amanpour's CNN International Show Launching In Spring

Amanpour Gears Up For New Show

CNN has announced the name and format of Christiane Amanpour's new show, which will debut on CNN International in the spring.

The international correspondent will host "Amanpour," a half hour program featuring a mix of international news and interviews. The show, which will be based in New York, will air weekdays at 3 p.m. and repeat at 5 p.m. ET on CNN International, and twice during primetime in Europe.

In a statement on Wednesday, CNN touted the new program as "the centerpiece" of the lineup on their international network. Tony Maddox, the managing director of CNN International, praised the correspondent's return, saying, "Christiane has proven herself time and time again to be the leading international journalist in television news."

Amanpour's return to CNN is part of her new dual role at the network and ABC News. She stepped down as the host of ABC News' "This Week" in December, and will continue as the network's global affairs anchor as well as the host of the new CNN International program.
