Christina Applegate dropped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to chat about her NBC sitcom "Up All Night," now in it's sophomore run. With ratings sagging, NBC made the decision to shutter production for a few months in order to transition the single-camera comedy to the multi-camera format.
"We’re gonna have, like, an audience," Applegate said. "I’m very comfortable, ya know, in that arena." Applegate was a recent host on "Saturday Night Live" where she seemed to thrive in that live environment, feeding off of the energy from that studio audience. And of course, her breakout TV performance was on a little multi-camera sitcom called "Married ... With Children."
NBC picked up an additional three episodes on the season as well, meaning that when "Up All Night" comes back in the spring, viewers will have five episodes of the retooled retooled "Up All Night." The series has already seen some major changes this season; abandoning "The Ava Show," adding Reagan's brother, and switching up who was staying at home with the baby.
"Up All Night" airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs weeknights at 12 a.m. ET on ABC.
