Diane Lockhart wasn’t too thrilled to watch Donald Trump be sworn in as president of the United States.
As Christine Baranski, who portrays Lockhart on “The Good Wife” spinoff, “The Good Fight,” admitted Tuesday night on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” she didn’t have to work too hard to channel her character’s feelings in the opening scene of her new show’s pilot. In the scene, Lockhart watches Trump’s inauguration before quickly turning off the television.

Baranski told Colbert that this particular scene was shot after the election but before Trump’s inauguration in January.
“So I hadn’t had the opportunity of seeing the inauguration,” Baranski said. “But the director said, ‘Well, you know, imagine that you’re shocked.’ And I said, ‘No worry, I can play this.’”
After laughter from the audience, Colbert then playfully asked, “Now, when you were imagining this, how big did you imagine the crowd was in your mind?”
Baranski has been vocal about how she “drastically” disagrees with some of the president’s cabinet picks and recently told Vanity Fair that she’d be game to play Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos on “Saturday Night Live.”
“The sketches have been unbelievable all through the election, and the post-election,” she told the magazine. “So yeah, we could have a revolving door of people playing the cabinet members and all.”
Fingers still crossed that she’ll make a guest appearance.
“The Good Fight” premieres Sunday, Feb. 19, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
