Ready Or Not, Hallmark Channel Is Starting Its Full Slate Of Christmas Movies In October

It might be October, but it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas on TV.

The leaves are changing color, Halloween is almost here and... Christmas movies are on TV?

Hallmark Channel is launching its holiday-themed programming slate tonight at 11 p.m. Central/Mountain time, with “A Cookie Cutter Christmas,” an original film that debuted in 2014. If you’re on Eastern or Pacific time, you’ll have to wait an extra hour for Christmas programming, with the film starting at midnight.

It’s not just one movie, either. The Hallmark Channel will run a full slate of holiday programming, with this season’s first new original film, “A Wish for Christmas,” premiering on the network on Saturday.

It’s the network’s annual “Countdown to Christmas” extravaganza... and they’ve even been counting down to the countdown on social media:

Hallmark always seems to have one eye on Christmas. Not only does the channel start broadcasting Christmas programming in October, it also airs Christmas movies in July.

The company’s stores have a long tradition of selling Christmas ornaments in the summer as well. Hallmark told Consumerist in 2009 that the July sales were aimed at ornament collectors.
