Coloradan Arrested With Almost 50 Lbs. Of Marijuana

A Colorado man was arrested in Nebraska Wednesday afternoon after state troopers there found him transporting a large amount of marijuana and hashish.

47-year-old Christopher Hansen, of Paonia, Colorado, was stopped for speeding in a 2001 Dodge pickup near Lincoln, Nebraska. The Journal Democrat reports the trooper was given consent to search the truck, leading to the discovery and seizure of 46.9 lbs. of marijuana and 3.7 lbs. of hashish. The drugs had been hidden in an external fuel tank.

Michael Baker, a 40-year-old passenger of the vehicle from Missoula, Montana, was also taken into custody. According to 7News, both Baker and Hansen were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
