Suspect Killed Brother For Having Sex With Ex-wife: Cops

A man in Peoria, Arizona, is behind bars after allegedly shooting his older brother who traded drugs to have sex with the suspect's ex-wife.

Christopher Michael Wasar, 39, was arrested Saturday afternoon when he allegedly shot his older brother Matthew Wasar, 45, in the chest.

The altercation began when Wasar and his ex-wife, Jessica Wasar forced their way into Matthew Wasar's apartment. They went to retrieve items she had stolen from Wasar and given to his brother, according to AZCentral.com.

At first, Wasar encountered Brady McGonigle, his brother's roommate, and allegedly held him at gunpoint for several minutes.

Wasar and his ex then encountered the brother who was in a car outside the apartment.

The two started arguing and Wasar punched his brother in the face before allegedly shooting him once in the chest.

Police contend the shooting occurred because Wasar resented his brother for having an affair with his ex-wife.

Wasar tried to flee but was taken into custody. Police said he told them he shot his brother when the victim charged at him with a knife.

Jessica Wasar and other witnesses said Matthew had a knife in his hand but did not threaten his brother with it, AZFamily reports.

Matthew Wasar died on the way to the hospital, according to MyFoxPhoenix.

Wasar now faces charges for second-degree murder, kidnapping and burglary.

The Wasars' father told police the two have always had a "love/hate" relationship, according to AZCentral.com.
