'Chronicle' Trailer: Teens Become Superheroes

These Teenagers Are Freaks

If Spider-Man lives by his Uncle Ben's credo, "With great power comes great responsibility," the kids in "Chronicle" do the exact opposite.

Most films about superheroes portray a selfless nobility in their protagonists; yes, they may struggle with their powers, but in the end, they go and pursue justice. But would everybody do the responsible thing, if offered freakish abilities that offer them great power over the world? That's the question that this new film, directed by Josh Trank (screenplay by Max Landis), asks and answers simultaneously.

The first trailer for "Chronicle" has been revealed by MTV, giving us a first glimpse at the story of three high school kids suddenly endowed with freak powers. They indulge in carefree fun had at others' expense, and things get really dark as they begin to grasp just what they can take for themselves with destructive energies.

The film stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell and Michael Kelly and hits theaters on February 3rd. Check out the trailer below.
