Chuck Brown, 'Godfather Of Go Go,' Hospitalized

WASHINGTON -- Legendary musician Chuck Brown, D.C.'s "Godfather of Go Go,” has been hospitalized.

The Howard Theater, where the recent Grammy-nominee had been scheduled to perform Saturday, released a statement announcing that Brown's show would be postponed until June due to the 75-year-old musician being hospitalized for "joint pain and inflammation that has prevented him from performing."

A message on Brown's Facebook page asks for "continued prayers" for Brown:

The Brown family wants to extend their thanks and deepest appreciation to everyone for their concern, prayers and best wishes for Chuck Brown during his hospitalization. They ask for your continued prayers.

Brown canceled a show in early March due to health problems as well, explaining on Facebook that "I'm under the weather and doctor says I need a couple days rest."

"Chuck Brown" is a trending term on Twitter in the D.C. region, with hundreds sending out messages wishing the musician a quick recovery.
