UPDATE: There's just one problem with Chuck Todd's insistence that news organizations stop overusing the phrase "breaking news."

"Situation Room" producer Vaughn Sterling tweeted Friday:

ORIGINAL STORY: Chuck Todd is going to break news organizations of the bad habit of using "breaking news" for, well, non-breaking news.

The NBC correspondent took to Twitter Wednesday to complain about outlets' abuse of the label:

Some suggested that he may have been referring to nonstop cable news coverage of missing Flight 370. But networks' overuse of "breaking news" is definitely nothing new.

Still, Todd doubled down on his condemnation. He added Friday:
