Cirque du Soleil is certainly not new, but their artistry for reinvention is nearly as remarkable as the magic they create on stage. While Las Vegas is seen by some as "exotic" the excitement for the premiere of Cirque's newest creation, JOYÀ is building on the Riviera Maya (literally) with a premier this November. The show is the result of a bold partnership between Cirque du Soleil and Grupo Vidanta, a developer of world-class resorts, fusing food, fantasy and entertainment in this lush destination. Billed as an "intimate theatrical experience," Joya will call a custom-designed theater home in Mexico's Riviera Maya where audience members will be entranced by the signature Cirque du Soleil style while dining on perfectly executed meals.

The 600-seat theater received its inspiration from the natural beauty of the surrounding jungle and the richness of Mexican culture and heritage. To accommodate the extravagance of a Cirque du Soleil show, the theater is fluid in form, integrating the surrounding natural environment into the experience. A premium dinner service will feature international gastronomy and beverages including champagne incorporated into a theatrical prelude.

Combining the culinary and performing arts is meant to engage all the senses leaving audience members with completely new theater experience enveloped in the story of an alchemist and his granddaughter embarking on a quest to uncover the secrets of life in a way that only Cirque du Soleil can.

With so many choices, seriously consider staying at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya as it is both family friendly as well as created with romance in mind. With clean lines and a definite choice to keep furnishings to a minimum none of the rooms are at a loss for amenities. The Grand Master Room, Grand Suite or Grand Master Suite all offer more than ample space with spa quality products refreshed daily. While furnishing may be sparse, dining options are not with pan-Asian, Italian, steak, international fusion and seafood both inspired and exotic. The Brio Spa and Fitness Center offers impeccable service and a full array of spa services as well as those indigenous to this Mayan sanctuary.

Cirque du Soleil has never looked or tasted so good and the Riviera Maya can now own the bragging rights to an entirely new travel experience.
